Great value for the price - the rooms are basic but sufficient for the low cost. Convenient location - close to bus stations, the old city, and the night market.- Nice staff - they even organized a free dinner for Christmas!
Unattractive surroundings - the hotel is located in a back alley with grey buildings and hostels. Small dorm rooms - the rooms are cramped for the number of beds.

This guesthouse offers a clean and spacious room with comfortable beds. The location is convenient, with a nearby market and attractions within walking distance. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who go above and beyond to assist with travel arrangements and provide helpful advice. The facilities include multiple showers and toilets to avoid any inconvenience, free drinking water in the lobby, and a room to store luggage if needed. The guesthouse also provides tickets for various attractions and offers a small locker in the room for personal belongings.
The guesthouse may have a lot of stairs, which can be a challenge for some guests.

My stay at 168 Chiangmai Guesthouse was delightful. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful. The hostel had a relaxed atmosphere and the lovely cats added a charming touch. The location was perfect, with easy access to the old town, spas, temples, and the North Gate Jazz Co-op for live music. I felt safe and secure as a solo female traveler.

The cleanliness of the entire hostel, especially the bathrooms, was impressive. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful. The small cafe on the premises serves the most delicious Shawarma I've ever tasted. The rooftop chilling area is a unique feature, where you can relax, do your laundry, and even meet the hostel rabbit. The air conditioning in the room was strong and kept me cool all night. The hostel is impeccably clean, with high hygiene standards. It's also conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants, pubs, and clubs.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
